Golfers are athletes. So not only does fitness apply to the golfer in order to create power and distance, it is essential to assess the biomechanics of the body to be able to gauge and ultimately increase: performance, swing efficiency, and prevent injury.
There is no one way to swing a club, as countless PGA tour pros have demonstrated over the years with a multitude of swing styles.
But, there is one efficient way for every player to swing and its based on what the individual player can physically do. To achieve an efficient swing a golfer must be screened. The screen involves an assessment of swing mechanics, biomechanics, physical fitness, movement quality, current health and client history.
I have trained at the Titleist Performance Institute to assess and screen golfers and develop programmes to increase performance through the Body-Swing connection (i.e how the body functions during the swing).
I test and then correct any movement restrictions which will make your swing more efficient, more powerful, and less likely to cause injury.
